I have been asked by JCK Events, the entity that runs the JCK jewelry trade shows in a variety of locations around the country, to join them on their Design Advisory Group. These opportunities tend to be all about the team, and this group proves to be a talented lineup of the jewelry industry’s best and brightest: Patricia Faber of Aaron Faber Gallery; Zdena Jiroutova of Z Folio Gallery; John Carter of Jack Lewis Jewelers; Andrea Riso of Talisman Collection, and Catherine Jensen of Michael Jensen Designs. Jacqueline Stone, the Stone in jewelry design firm Salt+Stone will be a lot of fun to work with, as I’ve already discovered by following her insightful blog at National Jeweler.
In my role, I will give JCK my opinions and insights into new directions and initiatives for the 2016 Tucson jewelry show and the really BIG event in Las Vegas. Trade shows are a big investment for jewelry designers, particularly emerging designers, as they have to carefully consider their options for getting their designs in front of retail jewelers. This advisory role gives me a chance to be part of an important discussion, and fits into my commitment to supporting independent jewelry designers. I’m so excited to get started!
Speaking of JCK, remember that blogging panel in Las Vegas in May? Well, the video is out, and you can see yours truly along with friends and fellow jewelry bloggers Barbara Palumbo, Danielle Miele, and Katerina Perez here.
You can see the whole JCK Talks lineup here.
Thank you, JCK for the opportunities, and can’t wait to see what happens next!
