I so wish I was in NoCal this week. A veritable knock-out line-up of some of my favorite jewelry designers are together in San Francisco, on Wednesday, October 29th, 2014 for Designers by the Bay. All gathered for one night at the beautiful and historic Shreve and Co. jewelry store to celebrate our connections, inspiration, and artistry in jewelry.
The Women’s Jewelry Association does such an incredible job of bringing people in the jewelry industry together, and this event truly shines. This is the 17th year of the WJA Northern California chapter featuring local Bay area jewelry designers, getting their talent in front of retailers and press for the recognition they deserve. WJA will also be honoring Georgie Gleim, President of Gleim the Jeweler in Palo Alto, for her lifetime of work and her family’s legacy in the jewelry business.
Among the twenty-plus jewelry designers in attendance, there will be a design competition that evening, judged by prominent industry press and influencers. You may recognize some of these names from profiles on idazzle.com–I know and admire many of these designers:
Kings Ransom Pearls
Betsy Barron Jewellery
Clare Ullman Designs
Sarah Graham Metalsmithing
Sea Hunt Pearls
Revere Academy featured designers
Sheahan Stephen Sapphires
M. Lowe & Co.
John Meier Fine Jewelry
Lola Oladunjoye of Cephas
So go if you can! Mix, mingle, and enjoy the jewels–the people AND the gems of the industry.
